Sometimes we lose sight of that fact that our energy is not infinite. From minor annoyances to major eruptions, our mental, physical and even financial health can be full of hard unavoidable truths. If you're an entrepreneur, artist, creative, writer, producer, film maker, or leader, you know that negative thoughts can sometimes get in the way of your success. But did you know that there are science based ways to release those negative thoughts and move forward?
The first step to pull yourself out of the negative zone is to become aware you are in one, being aware of your thoughts. This may seem obvious, but it's important to remember that thoughts are just thoughts—they're not reality. Once you realize that your thoughts are just thoughts, you can start to question them. Why am I thinking this? Is this really true? What evidence do I have to support this?
You can also try cognitive reframing. This is when you take a negative thought or situation and reframe it in a more positive light. For example, let's say you're a writer who is struggling to finish your first novel. A negative thought might be "I'm never going to finish this book." But if you reframe it, you might say to yourself "I'm getting closer to finishing my book every day." By changing your perspective, you can change how you feel about the situation.
Another great tool is our Release + Move Forward protocol found in our Optimized Mindset Protocols Deck. It allows you to down regulate your nervous system through a series of sensory, breathing and journaling techniques.
